The way you shape the chracter is really good. Also the story telling technique make this game become really engage, but I did not reason out the truth.
This game was incredibly atmospheric, I got very invested. There is a lot going on that drew me in, all the mysteries and different options made me want to keep exploring. Fantastic job!
I like the film noir feel of this game, I got a gritty vibe while playing this and I felt determined to solve the case despite somethings compelling me to deviate. i got the ending where I reflect at the grave
I love a detective story, and I love a tortured main character who has to work through his own past! Your descriptions are well written, and I really enjoyed these lines: "The neon underbelly of Mumbai is where dreams go to die and secrets go to fester. You've got a snitch, goes by the name of Chhota. He's a weasel, but he's your weasel, and tonight you need his particular breed of gutter wisdom. " I think you do a very good job at quickly setting tone and familiarizing the player with your world and characters. One thing I'd recommend is, if you have the time, go more in depth on the events of the investigation; I feel as though after I talk to Rosie, the pace of the story picks up a lot, and I would like to see the main character go through the motions of doing things like collecting evidence or infiltrating the secret gathering. I played through the game twice and got favorable endings, and I like that you give the detective a chance to heal with his wife. Overall, pretty good!!
I love this game; Roshni's characters are interesting, but I'm not sure how I'm supposed to reason out the truth (that's my problem). The plot is great, and the characterization is extraordinarily good.
I am a detective who is trying to solve the mysterious death of a famous Bollywood actor. My investigations lead to supernatural conclusions that I can't seem to shake, and which continue to haunt me even after the case is closed.
I didn't experience any issues. There was a part near the end where it feels like you break the fourth wall and inform me as the reader that where I am is the result of my decisions. It's a little confusing because I'm not actually clear if you are speaking to me as the reader or as the character.
Some great things:
Really wonderful writing which fit the noir genre very well. "Chhota's information was a match struck in a gunpowder factory." Very fun writing that was a pleasure to read!
You introduced some really memorable characters which had a lot of personality despite their brief appearance in the story. Felt very rewarding to have these fleeting, but intense interactions.
I felt like I always had surprising and rewarding choices. I actually played through the game three times because I found all of the details revealed in each playthrough very satisfying!
Really cool game, I love the detective/ noir vibe from the game. I got the ending where Roshni tries to call me one last time but I'm too obsessed with my work. The narrative in the game, though is a lot of text, really world builds the environment and the actions of the main character.
